Bullying & Harassment

Unfortunately bullying can take place at work. It can be subtle or overt.  It can involve discrimination. It is distressing and often difficult to know how to manage it. We can help you to deal with this challenging situation.

Whatever the situation, if you have been unable to deal with it informally, the next step is usually to raise a grievance in writing. It should include as much detail as possible, including possible witnesses. Depending on the situation, in some serious cases you might be entitled to resign and claim constructive dismissal.

Whatever is happening we do recommend that you keep a record of events and get legal support at the earliest opportunity.

What Next? How Can We Help You?

Your employment solicitor can talk to you about how best to deal with the situation you are facing and how your employer should be supporting you at work. If you reach the stage that you cannot return to work, despite trying, then we will advise you on how you might be able to exit the business.  Usually this would involve negotiating a financial package and signing a Settlement Agreement to record this. If you want to hear more about our work in the Guildford, Godalming, Surrey area please see here.
